WINE AT TARGET? I’M JEALOUS.

It’s been a long winter. Did I say loooooong? Spring break is late this year. Did I say late? I’ve been dreaming of the warmth since November. We decided on a last minute get away, just a few days to visit the in-laws in Florida. The day before the trip, the young guy spikes a fever. I try to convince myself it’s nothing, but I’m a parent. I know. A few hours later we have a diagnosis of strep throat. Yes, I said “strep throat.”  After I pretty much bleach the entire house. I pray. Luckily, a few doses of antibiotics later, he is spunky.  Insert parental relief here. Plane ride: success. Insert:parental applause here.

A few hours into the day I have realized I forgot a pretty important item, underwear for a small one. Sometimes while packing for yourself AND three kids, its Inevitable. A target run will fix the problem. While I’m there I stroll down the wine isle. A side note; I’m very jealous they sell wine at target here. In New York and New Jersey, NADA. I’ll move on, slighted and jealous but moving on. I notice they have some decent wine at target. I grab a Pinot noir, envisioning my after pool days sitting around drinking wine with the in laws and chatting. Fast forward to kids who want to sleep with you and take the “mom, I’m scared” route and petty much I had a few sips of that Pinot on vacation. I take note, when they sell wine at target and you come across the Meiomi Pinot noir, grab it!
