I’M IN A NEW YORK STATE OF MIND…
Have you ever had one of those days? Your son is crying because his favorite T-shirt is dirty? The puppy has mysteriously reached in your purse and chewed your brand new sunglasses? AND you cannot for the life of you figure out how to work the website of your new blog, even though your technically savvy? That sums up yesterday morning. So when your friend calls you and says when your hubby gets home, come over for a glass of wine? YOU DON’T HESITATE!
I have nice friends (shout out!), they are funny, kind and we are spontaneous! (That’s the best part!) I don’t know what I would do without them. I have won the lottery in that department, seriously. They have my back, encourage me, laugh with me, cry with me and frankly we have a good time together.
We decided to try a Long Island (New York, folks) wine. While I have in the past (maybe, just maybe) snubbed my nose at local wine, we were amazed at how awesome this wine is!
On the technical side: The wine is a Pinot Blanc, which really gets overshadowed by its more popular friends, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Rieslings. Which, in general makes this wine a solid bargain. First, this is a delicious dry wine, crisp with pear and citrus notes. It’s not oaked and we dubbed it “homework wine,” because we could see ourselves sitting down and having a glass while helping with homework. The truth is, this wine is elegant and classic. You can drink alone (or while on homework duty) or with dinner. The big plus, you’re helping support the local wine biz. My friend, who tends to steer clear of this “type” of wine, loved it. (She’s a Sancerre/Burgundy kinda gal). We both agreed to purchase this wine for our own house! HOLLA, NEW YORK WINE!
The winery located on the North Fork of Long Island.
