SHUT UP.… (DANCE, DREAM AND HAVE A DRINK!)
“Sometimes you want to just say…” D yells as the music shouts “shut up, shut up” . I use all the strength I have to laugh out loud. I have three kids, YES! I want to utter that word A LOT! I happen to live near the best spin instructor EVER. (shout out D). The song reminded me as a mother, sometimes it’s OK to sit back and have a glass of wine. As in ‘shut up, sit back and dance, dream and have a drink.’
If I were evaluating wine, the only quality words I can “legally” use is; poor, good, very good, excellent and superb. My quality ranking as a spinner would be good. As in, it’s not my forte. I have other strengths, like drinking wine.
After a rough day, I have been known to drink an expensive bottle of Bordeaux, WITHOUT food. Which could be a minor sin in the wine world. As a mother, I’m coming out of a month of strep throat. As in ALL three kids (and mother) got infected. NOT, at the same time, because that would be too easy. We had to start with the illness every week for a month, because that was more fun and painful.
As a mother, I give myself license to take care of ME. Some nights you just need to relax and tell yourself it’s OK.
If you want to drink a BIG California Chardonnay, go for it. Bordeaux without food, Cheers! Your watching reality shows and kids are asleep, that could call for a French Burgandy or Washington State Pinor Noir, Bonne! The bottom line: sometimes it’s OK to indulge in wine. After our little spin episode, a few of us ended up at dinner drinking this amazing wine: Alpha Omega, unbaked Chardonnay, Napa Valley 2011 http://www.aowinery.com
